Left: Barnett high-perf clutch plates are stronger than
stock plates, more resistant to cracking, and have considerably more grab
than the OEM item.......
Right: Kawasaki OEM
plates are good for regular street use, with very smooth and progressive
engagement qualities.......
Try our "50-50"
clutch - use 4 of each of these for a
stronger clutch that isn't hard to manage.....

equipment steel plates are now NLA.....
The steel clutch plates in the Kaw
900's and 1000's are tough, and sandblasting the surfaces can clean up
a lot of problems...

A helpful tech tip:
The Barnett clutch plates are an excellent item that solves a number of issues with the Kaw 900/1000 clutch.... One easy, 10 minute modification can make them even better...... Take each plate, and with a few strokes of a file bevel the sharp edge of both sides of each location tab.....just enough to take the sharp corner off..... This will retain the extra strength of these plates, and make them engage and disengage as smooth as stock plates.... NOTE: The newer Barnett plates (Since app. 2020) do not require this mod |
